The Top 10 Questions To Ask Before Hiring A Disc Jockey
- How Will You Be Dressed?
Proper attire reflects a positive image to your guests.  Unless otherwise
specified by you, TalentAuthority DJ's always dress in formal wear!
- Do You Use Professional Equipment?
Using professional sound equipment (including professional quality
compact disc players) helps insure reliable service and a quality presentation.
- Do You Have Access To Emergency Back-Up Equipment?
Weddings, Mitzvahs, and Special Events are often
once in a lifetime opportunities.  A back-up system protects your investment.
- Are We Guaranteed The DJ Of Our Choice On The Day Of Our Event?
A written contract with your specific
entertainer guarantees that you will have no surprises on the day of your event.  It is a good idea to put an initial payment
down as soon as you find the person you prefer.  Reputable DJ's will often be booked a year or more in advance on 'peak'
days.
- How Early Will You Be To Our Site To Set Up?
An average of between 45-60 minutes should be allowed
for set up and sound check.  Normally there is no additional charge for this service.
- May We Call Your References?
References are a major part of the entertainment business.  It is a good
idea to get a few client and business references.
- How Many Years Of Experience Do You Have?
Experience brings knowledge of common problems and situations.
Be sure that your DJ has experience performing at your kind of event and has the personality to match your needs.
- Do You Belong To Any Professional Associations Or Trade Groups?
An involved businessperson shows
a willingness to learn, network and share ideas.  Belonging to a professional trade group reflects a caring attitude.
- Will You Interact With Our Guests?
A seasoned DJ will be able to recognize the 'mood' of the party and
will be able to interact with your guests accordingly.  Make sure to express your preferences on guest interaction with
your DJ.
- Will You Play Requests?
Although reputable DJ's are able to 'read' the music preferences of your guests,
your DJ should welcome your guest's requests.  In addition, custom tailoring music to fit your specific occassion should be a
priority for any quality DJ.  Most DJ's are willing to purchase and add musical selections to their own collections as long
as the selection is suitable for playing at future performances.
